MARRIAGE???

" Marriage is a commitment. Commitment is a decision. When you decide to commmit yourself in marriage, you have to stand by that commitment even when it is not always smooth sailing. Even when the road is rocky. Even when it seems that the only way is out."

SURVIVAL KIT(part 2)

It took awhile before I got the much awaited time to write the 2nd part of the Survival kit.I've been busy lately, that's why.Anyway, the list of the Survival kit continues and the next in line are the...

RUBBER BAND
Rubber bands are elastic and so must we!Oftentimes, when we get accustomed to what we typically do,we find it really hard to adopt to changes. Have you been in a situation where you have carefully planned for an activity upto the smallest detail only to find yourslef confronted with sudden change of plan? There are instances beyond our control, so always carry with you this tool: RUBBER BAND.

CANDY
What do you think is the relevance of candy to the Survival Kit? Candies are sweet right? Are they as sweet as you? Hmmm.... There are so many rude people out there. People who always criticize. People who are fond of finding fault in others. Why is it really so easy to criticize and yet so hard to give affirmation? When was the last time you affirmed somebody for a job well done? When was the last time you gave somebody a hug or a tap on the shoulder? Hey, people needs to be affirmed.. be generous in giving it..you're not selfish, are you?

TEA BAG
Amidst our busy schedule, we must always find time to take a break and have our cup of tea. Why tea?? Because studies shows that tea is composed of ingredients that is believed to help people rejuvenate. So the next time stress knocks in - remember to have your tea.

SURVIVAL KIT (part 1)

Our new Assistant Regional Director arrived last June 1 and on her first day with us, she shared something that I would want to remember and carry with me. ARD Evelyn calls it the " Survival Kit".
Our survival Kit includes........

TOOTHPICK : There are various ways on how to use a toothpick but oftentimes we associate it in removing the small particles in between our teeth after we're done eating. But people have become more practical and artistic these days. Toothpicks are now a common sight in clubhouse sandwiches and the infamous "tusok-tusok."When dealing with people, we must aslo use a toothpick. But instead of having an array of cocktail fruits and foods, we have an array of attitudes and characteristics to choose from.Hence, we must pick and focus on the positive side of the person. How many people have grown apart because on paying too much attention on the wrong they have done? How many relationships have been broken because of not looking at the good side of the person? If you want to build strong and genuine relationship, remember the first survival kit.

PENCIL : When I started school, I used pencil for writing. I remember how much I wanted to use ballpen then because there are variety of colors to choose from unlike the pencil whose only color is black(boring!). And it's just so ironic because now that I am all grown-up ,whenever I write, I personally prefer pencil than ballpen. Ofcourse, for obvious reasons.. pencil is easier to erase.:-) We use pencil for writing poems, for writing journals, for listing our debts and things that has to be done and so on and so forth. But have we ever tried using our pencil for jotting down the blessings that we have received? If you haven't tried doing so, why not start today?

ERASER: When we want to correct something in our own personal writings or official documents, we resort to our eraser. But the use of erasers must not be limited on papers, chalkboard or whiteboard alone. We must make use of it also in our day to day existence. Mistakes in life is inevitable, but we must not cling on to these mistakes. Learn to erase it and then do the right thing.

BAND-AID : In life, we will have plenty of wounds. In order to prevent our wounds from getting infected, we must use a band-aid. We will be hurt time and again even by people whom we love and value so much. If we keep the wound open, healing might take a long time and it might worsen and eventually lead into complications. So, at the first sight of the wound, put a band-aid right away. The faster it heals, the better!

is the meaning of life life's meaning?

what is the meaning of life? a question that begs more question that it simply asks and requires more to answer a few. take a few steps, stop, look back, few steps again, stop, look forward, finally, move on... i think life's meaning can never be contained in one definitive answer.life is a continuos motion which ends only in death, if death really is the end of life, for somehow we still believe in the afterlife or life in the hereafter.as life is a spiralling motion, meaning should also be.the meaning of life therefore is something that cannot be resolved at once but at every moment of our lived existence.live life, that probably is its meaning.

JOURNEY

In the journey of life...

People come, stays for a while

And then walks away...

Truly, we don't know where the road

We are heading will lead us to

But wherever it may lead us

I WANT TO WALK WITH YOU.

A LESSON FROM MY SON

Life has been and always will be full of ups and downs. As the famous line in the story Forest Gump goes " Life is a box of chocolate, you'll never know what you're gonna get." I am quite sure, you can all relate to that famous one-liner. We all have our share of topsy-turvy moments. And at one time or another, we have sighed and murmured this line, " ohhh life. Why is it so unfair? The world is so cruel" Indeed, life becomes so taxing sometimes. Ever wonder why some people opted to end their life?? Maybe it's becasue they are tired of living the kind of life that they have.Maybe, they have become tired of finding meaning for their existence. Maybe, they no longer see life the way God intended it to be seen. Perhaps you will ask, how does God want me to see life?

Last May 1-3, my eldest son togetether with Gerry and I attended the 12th Internationla Kids Village in Sta. Cruz Laguna. It was our first ever IKV. Me and my husband were so excited prior to the conference because it will be the first time that we will attend a conference together with our eldest son. Gerrymie Florel, Gelo as we call him is not the typical five year-old boy. He is very sweet and thinks quite matured for his age. And mind you, he has superb interpersonal skills. He can relate to children and adults alike. He is also fond of singing Praise and Worship songs. So when it was time for the Praisefest during the conference, i was really very happy seeing him raise his hands and sing. It was really a sight to behold. But it didn't end there. The worship leader asked the kids to close their eyes and think of the number one blessing in their life and instructed them to raise their right hand when they are done doing so. After aminute, Gelo raised his right hand. feeling curious, I asked him what is his number one blessing. My son with his very young and innocent mind looked at me and replied "my life mama".

I was moved by his answer... So, if you feel like life is so unfair..that you're sick and tired of it. If you're having thoughts that life is not worth living at all..THINK again! A lesson that I have learned from my son is this: "Life no matter how difficult is still and will always be a blessing." Don't you think that is the way God wants life to be seen?

A LETTER TO MY BIGBRO

Bigbro ko,

It's been more than 2 years now..your lilsis misses you a lot.Your love, your warm embrace, your assurance that you will always be there for me no matter what(truly you have kept your promise before daddy died). I miss our talks... our bonding.

Last night I was chatting with bgest bro and mama. We talked bout anything and eveything under the sun and when you became the subject of our topic, everything flashed back. How I wish I can just linger on the happy mem'ries that we had. But you know what? I can still remember vividly what happened days before you left us.The pain is still so fresh. It was so hard to keep the tears from falling. I didn't want mama to see me cry, I didn't want her to see a single tear drop fall from my eyes. I pretended that I was okay but deep down inside I was hurting so bad.

It was only last night that I have learned from bgestbro that few hours before you left, you were looking for me, but I was in the chapel. I was crying so hard, begging God to please spare you from death..But then my plans are not God's plans, nor my thoughts His thoughts. He must have heard my prayers and He gave the best answer to it. I love you so much bigbro ko..

lil sis

(From the day bigbro left, until today, my heart still speaks about this song's lyrics)

NEVER SAID GOODBYE

Travelling down the road
Passing the signs that used to be
I remember you and me
The road that leads me home
Is it too far for me to find
The days we left behind
Then the day you left me
It took me by surprise
Do you really love me
Still see it in your eyes
Refrain:
(But) you never said goodbye
You never heard my cry
The day you lefr my side
'Coz you never said goodbye
I live my life alone
Wondering what went wrong
You're trapped inside my mind
You never said goodbye
May be I was wrong
To think that we could ever be
Was it enough for you and me
We could have it all
It's not too late to realize
The way we feel inside
Then the day you left me
Took me by surprise
I know you really love me
I can see it when you cry
Refrain:
(But) you never said goodbye
You never heard my cry
The day you lefr my side
'Coz you never said goodbye
Adlib:
Refrain:
(But) you never said goodbye
You never heard my cry
The day you lefr my side
'Coz you never said goodbye
(But) you never said goodbye
You never heard my cry
The day you left my side
'Coz you never said goodbye
